No matter the nature of your dashboard and the analyses you perform within it, Skeepers allows you to share its content with ease to a broad or more targeted audience. Of course, you must first create a dashboard.
In this article, you will learn how to easily configure the sharing of your dashboard via a URL link to engage the different stakeholders in your organization: colleagues, supervisors, clients, partners, or store networks. The sharing feature allows you to filter the data displayed on your dashboard according to your preferences.
If you want to share your dashboard via Email, we invite you to read our dedicated article.
Accessibility
Dashboards can be shared via URL link or email.
For security reasons, shared dashboard links have a default validity period of 365 days.
To start, regardless of the type of dashboard sharing you are setting up, the first step is to access your dashboard and click on the button labeled 'Share the dashboard'.
By default, dashboard sharing is always disabled. Therefore, you must manually enable this feature on each dashboard by clicking on the 'Sharing Enabled' button until it turns green.
Share a Dashboard via URL
After clicking on the 'Via URL' item, you will have access to the URL dashboard sharing settings.
According to your preference, you can add more or less security to your share by making it public :
Anyone with the link to the shared dashboard can access it. |
The link to the shared dashboard requires authentication as a user or recipient. If an unauthorized person use the link, he/she will see this message : |
Authorized access to the shared dashboard is natively 365 days. However, you can limit this accessibility period of the link.
In the 'LIMIT THE DASHBOARD TO CERTAIN FILTERS ONLY' section, you can define the visibility limit of the dashboard data using the filters you have already configured and the properties of a user or recipient. Filters that are not restricted remain available and usable by the link holders.
Here are several illustrations of possible configurations :
Here, the person with the link will have direct access to all the data in the shared dashboard without restriction.
Here, the person with the link must first authenticate in Skeepers as a user or recipient to view all the data in the shared dashboard without restriction.
Here, the person with the link will have direct access to the shared dashboard but will only see data related to the city of Marseille (filter on attribute Marseille). |
|
Here, the person with the link must first authenticate in Skeepers as a user or recipient to view data related to their property ; if they have a Country property equal to France, they will only have access to data from the French market.
Here, the person with the link will have direct access to the shared dashboard but will only see data related to the American and Canadian markets (filter on attribute Canada and USA).
Here, the person with the link will have direct access to the shared dashboard but will only see data included in the City and Country filters ; if the data is incompatible, like City Paris and Country USA, no data will be displayed in the dashboard. |
The configuration choice with User Properties is not available for public sharing as it requires completing the properties of a user or recipient.
We encourage you to ensure that your properties are correctly filled out in the platform with similar formatting. In case of a spelling error, you will not have access to the desired filters.
By clicking on the 'Generate' button, you can obtain the link(s) to the shared dashboard(s). It will be possible to open the link in a new tab, copy it, or download it in an Excel file to make sharing easier.
