How to create a SMS deployment

SMS distribution allows you to tailor the invitation message to encourage your respondents to participate in your survey!

SMS distribution enables you to fully customize the message that will encourage your respondents to take part in your survey. By clicking on the link included in the SMS they receive, they will be directly redirected to your survey.

It’s up to you to choose the right message to maximize your response rate!

There is another type of distribution, conversational SMS. To understand which one best fits your needs, please refer to the article: create a "conversational SMS" distribution.

Let’s now see how to configure your SMS distribution.

Setup

In the "Distributions" section of your campaign, click on the "Create a new distribution" button.

Select the "Classic" mode, then choose "SMS".

Select the sender (Skeepers or your external service).

Name your distribution, then click on to confirm.

On your SMS distribution page, you will find the following elements:

Sending list, SMS template, Segment, Language, solicitation settings, and SMS sending timing (immediate or scheduled).

The sending list contains your contacts. You can create multiple lists to manage distinct groups of contacts. Feel free to check the article: create or import a contact list

To customize the message to be sent, you can also create and use SMS templates.

Here we select the template "SMS test template", then edit it.

The sender name and SMS content can be customized. The template name is up to you, allowing easier management and sorting of your templates.

Once the template is created or updated, click on to confirm.

Then choose the segment you want to attach to your distribution. (Learn more: segments and segment groups).

SMS language

Define the language to use for the SMS:

  • The source SMS language is the one used to write your SMS.
  • The contact language is the one assigned to the participant.
  • The contact’s country language is based on the respondent’s location (via browser settings).
  • Manually allows you to force the distribution in a specific language. For example, if you send your campaign to French expatriates abroad but want them to respond in French, even if they are geolocated in another country.

Manage participant solicitation

Select the desired solicitation type from the dropdown list.

You can choose not to send your campaign to contacts who have already been solicited within a defined time frame. This means that if your contacts have already received a participation request, they will not receive a new one during the defined period.

This helps avoid duplicate responses and prevents unnecessarily disturbing contacts who have already been invited to participate.

Don’t forget to check the "Send only to updated contacts" box if you do not want already solicited contacts to be contacted again (while respecting the non-solicitation period). Only updated contacts will receive the SMS during the next send.

Example: If a group of contacts participated in your campaign in February and you select "Send only to contacts not solicited for 1 month", then during your next campaign send in March, this group will be solicited again.

Finalization

Define whether the SMS is sent immediately or scheduled.

Finally, you can save and test before clicking send to confirm.

Don’t forget to click on to activate your campaign before sharing it.

You’re all set.

In accordance with current regulations, sending marketing SMS is not allowed on Sundays and public holidays.

Outside of these restrictions, SMS must be sent within the following time slots:

Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 20:00
Saturday from 10:00 to 20:00
