How to use an Indicator into scenario

The indicator allows you to trigger scenarios to manage quotas, analyze performance, improve your customer knowledge...

You can use an indicator to adapt the flow of your survey (response scenario) or trigger actions (post-response scenario), based on statistical data.

The scenario to adapt the survey flow

This scenario modifies the flow of your survey based on certain conditions (respondent profile or response behavior).

The configuration of this type of scenario is done in the Scenarios tab.

This type of scenario can be based on an indicator to adjust the flow of a survey, for example:

  • Manage quotas: as soon as 200 responses are recorded on the first page of your survey, the next respondents are sent to the second page.

The scenario that executes post-response actions

This scenario triggers post-response actions based on certain conditions (respondent profile or response behavior).

The configuration of this type of scenario is done in the Actions tab.

To learn more about actions, we recommend reading our article: What is an action?

Here are examples of post-response actions triggered based on an indicator being reached:

  • Improve representativeness: trigger your survey when your "Device used" indicator reaches the desired response threshold. For example: 100 on mobile / 200 on desktop / 150 on tablet.
  • Optimize your web callbacks: to better respond to your customers, redirect calls to another service if more than 15 web callbacks are pending for one operator.
  • Analyze performance: if your survey is not performing well, it is stopped. You automatically receive an alert to improve it as quickly as possible. For example: if the response rate does not reach 35%, an alert email is sent.
  • Improve product knowledge: if you receive a low satisfaction score on a page or a product, a campaign is automatically launched to understand the issue.
  • Instant win: redirect x people who have a “winner” flag to the "Winners" page and the others to the "Losers" page.
  • Improve customer knowledge: if the traffic on one of your pages (survey) is high, automatically trigger a survey to understand the reason for your visitors’ visit.

Example of configuring a scenario based on an indicator to trigger post-response actions

  1. In your campaign, click on the Actions tab.
  2. Name your scenario, then configure it using the When / If / Then structure.

Open the When menu and select the desired event. You can choose between:

  • On page load: the scenario is triggered when the page loads.
  • On page validation: the scenario is triggered once the page is validated and the results are recorded.
  • Manually: the scenario is triggered at a specific moment, for example when clicking a button in your survey.

  1. Click on Add a new condition. This step defines the conditions required to trigger your scenario.
  2. In the list of available conditions, select Indicators. In our example, we choose the previously created NPS Score indicator.
  3. In the Indicators condition settings, choose the condition type:

Global: the condition is validated when at least one indicator value meets the defined rule.

Specific: the condition is validated only when the targeted indicator value meets the defined rule.

In our example, we want to trigger the scenario if the NPS indicator reaches a threshold of -30 with a minimum of 200 responses.

  4. Select the Global condition, with:

    A threshold set to -30

    A minimum of 200 responses

The Then step defines which event will occur when the conditions are met.

  1. Click Add a new action.
  2. Then select an action. In our example, we choose the Notify by email action.
  3. Configure the Notify by email action (recipient selection, email content or template selection...).

Finally, don’t forget to save your actions by clicking on .

The available actions are:

  • Go to page: the user is redirected to a defined page of your survey.
  • Apply a flag: a flag is applied to an element to make it easier to find.
  • Notify by email : sends an automatic email to configure.
  • Notify by SMS: sends an automatic SMS to configure.
  • Notify by URL: sends the collected information via a URL.
  • Feed an application : sends information directly to your CRM (Salesforce / Adobe Campaign / MailChimp / Zendesk...).
  • Subscribe to a service: triggers a subscription to an Adobe Campaign Standard newsletter.
  • Redirect: the respondent is redirected to a web page of your choice.
  • Run a deployment: automatically triggers another deployment to respondents (based on the indicator criteria).
  • Webhook: automatically feeds an application connected to Skeepers.

Your actions are now configured.

On page validation, if the NPS score reaches the -30 threshold and a minimum of 200 responses has been recorded, then an email will be sent to the recipient.
