How to set up a follow-up on a deployment

You can create a follow-up on an email or SMS deployment from Skeepers. Two types of follow-ups are available: instant follow-up and scheduled follow-up, in order to maximize your response rate.

To create a follow-up for your email or SMS deployments, you need to open your email or SMS deployment from Skeepers and click on the Follow-ups tab:

There are 2 types of follow-ups:

  • Instant follow-up, to immediately resend a follow-up email or SMS.
  • Scheduled follow-up, to plan a follow-up in advance.

1. Instant follow-up

To create the follow-up, you need to choose the target from the dropdown list:

  • Not opened: recipients who did not open your initial email. This target is not available for SMS.
  • Not clicked: recipients who did not click on any element in the email or SMS – including those who did not open it.
  • Not responded: recipients who did not respond – including the non-opened and non-clicked. This is therefore the broadest target group.

Target segmentation example

Let’s imagine you sent 100 emails:

  • 40 recipients opened the email → 60 did not.
Target "Not opened" = 60 contacts
  • 30 recipients clicked a link in the email → 70 did not click (including the 60 who never opened it).
Target "Not clicked" = 70 contacts
  • 10 recipients responded to the survey → 90 did not (including the not opened and not clicked).
Target "Not responded" = 90 contacts → this is the broadest target group

Next, choose the email or SMS template to use for this follow-up: you can either select one from the dropdown list or create a new one using the “Create” button:

You just need to click Send.

Tip

You can reuse the same template as your initial deployment, but feel free to create a new one with a different subject or content to maximize your response rate.

For instant follow-ups, sending is triggered as soon as you click the Send button. No additional confirmation will be requested.

2. Scheduled follow-up

To create the follow-up, you need to:

  • Set a status: by default, the follow-up is inactive
  • Set the delay between the initial deployment and the follow-up (in days)

Example below: if you set 10 days, the follow-up will be sent 10 days after the client received the email or SMS:

  • Select the target: from the dropdown list:
    • Not opened: recipients who did not open your initial email. This target is not available for SMS.
    • Not clicked: recipients who did not click on any element in the email or SMS – including those who did not open it.
    • Not responded: recipients who did not respond – including the not opened and not clicked. This is therefore the broadest target group.

Then, choose the email or SMS template to use for this follow-up: you can either select one from the dropdown list or create a new one using the

You just need to click Save.

  • You can reuse the same template as in the initial deployment, but feel free to create a new one with a different subject or content to maximize your response rate.
  • You can also edit the status of scheduled follow-ups from the follow-up list.
  • It is possible to add multiple follow-ups. However, we recommend limiting yourself to 1 or 2 follow-ups maximum to avoid overwhelming your contacts.
